No Knock on the Door Yet

Thanks to all who wrote notes of support for my earlier message with the email I shipped to the White House.  It appears no one is coming to arrest me, maybe I am on the Bush Twit Filter and no one read my outrage filled message.  However, guess I should have expected this.... looks like MSM is not challenging Bush's politicizing comments before the Israeli Knesset - instead claiming this points to a weakness in the Obama foreign policy agenda?!?!?! Please pass on to George Bush, Traitor-In-Chief:

You are a disgusting moronic low life excuse for a human being.  You send our heroes to their deaths for NOTHING.  You destroy our economy for your criminal pals in industry... those who build bombs and pump gasoline and rob sick people of their health and wealth.  You lie to the people of America about EVERYTHING.  You embarrass my great country before the entire world.  Shame on you! Clintons Check-In To Rehab

Yes, he said it.  Bill finally used the N-word.  And, like white entertainers who "slipped" before him, his advisors suggested the only way out for him was to announce that he is checking into rehab at a posh Beverly Hills spa.

Observers have noted how the ex-Prez has been getting irate and begun to lose control on the campaign trail - particulaly over the last 3-4 weeks.  There were a couple of hecklers he shouted down with out right lies about the facts.  Last week, he threw an unopened bottle of snake oil at an outspoken member of the audience who queried him about Mrs. Clinton's motivation to continue running when it was mathematically impossible for her to secure the nomination.  Fortunately, he missed his target.  Bill's been missing a lot of targets this year.

Many elder members of the press have been remarking about his "whiskey nose".  His close friends from the press, especially the NBC family (NBC, MSNBC, etc.) have been concerned that he may be hitting the sauce again - not just the McDonald's stuff for fries and chicken fingers.  They think that this might be adding to his erratic outbursts.

Hillary also slipped.  She used the H-word in a campaign speech in West Virginia.  Howard Wolfson said she didn't really mean what she had said and that she also had plans to check in to a rehab facility - she is going to a top-notch psychiatric program in Arkansas.  When asked why she was not checking into the same California program as Bill, she responded with a blistering tirade of expletives that no one cared to document.

And now... HRC Plays the Race Card

One of the more thoughtful, less emotional posters to an Obama Campaign EMail list service today suggested Hillary is behaving like a terrorist.  My response was, " I do not think it wise or fair to draw a parallel between Hillary and terrorists.  I will say, having proof she is now blatantly resorting to playing the race card as we are hearing  with her own voice this morning...  she has lost all political capital she had to become the nominee or decide a splinter of what goes into the Democratic platform this year.

Pass me more kool-aid please.

When it is all said and done, and the numbers are put into the books, Sen. Obama will gain about 214,000 more popular votes and 8 delegates more then Hillary Clinton. So, where does that leave us, my friends?

During the lowest point in the Obama campaign, there was no stunning victory in Indiana, as was predicted by the Clinton campaign. After reeling from the loss in Pennsylvania, and having to deal yet again with the never-ending Rev. Wright situation, Sen. Obama beat Hillary Clinton handily in North Carolina, and only lost in Indiana by about 18,000.

But, we must realize that these are only numbers. The leader of the popular vote, the number delegate vote, or even the leader of contests won, makes no real difference. What really matters in this primary race is one thing; Hillary thinks she would be a stronger candidate.

Pass me more kool-aid please.

After Pennsylvania and the Clinton campaign’s 10 million dollar donation boost, which by the way helped them to make up for being 9 million in the hole, all looked liked the Clinton comeback kid status had kicked in.

They touted that such a flood of donations proved that they were supported by the people. And they told us that over and over again.

But wait, as it turns out, she loaned herself another 6.4 of the 10 million. That brings her personal loans to her own campaign to 11.4 million.

Not bad for a “working class” woman of the people. Imagine how much she might have loaned herself if she were an elitist. It’s as if she quietly has become the Mit Romney of the Democratic Party.

But, do not fear, she claims that she is staying in until the end. Be that the end of this primary race, or the end of the Clintonian Era.

Leaks From The Clinton Camp

Most of my inside sources dropped out of sight in February when I published the news that the Clintons had moved the goal posts to Montana.  The staffer she castrated when he told her that, after Super Tuesday, she would have to go past Pennsylvania was particularly offended that the public now knows that he no longer has "testicular fortitude".

At any rate, more news has recently leaked out.  It looks as though the campaign is being approached by several publishers offering large advances to key players.  Spirits are up.

Campaign Manager Maggie Williams has been approached to author a book on "How To Obtain A Subprime Mortgage".  The publisher who contacted her feels that her experience as a member of the Board of Directors of one of the most active subprime lenders gives her special perspective.  The book will be published in 3 language versions: "Fonix" for uneducated white folk, "Ebonics" and Spanish for each of its target audiences.

Mrs. Clinton has been solicited to research, document and write a book entitled "Tales from the Trail" to share her experiences first stumping for Bill, then for herself across the country.  There is talk of a special 2nd book to be entitled "Tall Tales from the Trail" that will let readers re-live her experience under sniper fire in Bosnia, bringing peace to Ireland, and so forth.  This 2 volume set should help her pay off some of her campaign debt.

Finally, expelled Rhodes Scholar and ex-Prez Slick Willy has actually agreed to write a book entitled "Tail from the Trail".   Word is that the book will be distributed in a plain brown wrapper to add to the mystique.

Now that they have come up with some ideas to support their lavish lifestyles, sentiment is much more positive in Hillaryland.  We can all thank the publishing industry!

When asked about opportunities for her soon to be unemployed staffers, Mrs. Clinton is reported to have said something like "let them eat cake".

A Reminder

A Reminder to all Barack Obama supporters: We are the part of the democratic party that does not slam, does not put down, does not get angry, does not hate, and does not take revenge physical, psychological or otherwise. I was a little taken aback after reading a bit about the behavior of some Obama supporters in West Virginia who heckled Hillary and Chelsea during her speech. Please do not do this. The temptation is there, especially now that we can see victory in our sights, to take some meausre of revenge upon the Clinton campaign and its supporters for the unfair treatment we have received. The temptation is there to call the members of our family and some of our friends who are Clinton supporters and tell them, "See, told you so." But please do not. It would be easy to catcall, to chide, to bloat ourselves big and fat with arrogance and express our disdain for Clintonites everywhere. It would be so easy. But if we do this, we will not be better than those who slammed us. We will, in fact, become worse than them because we know better. We know that it is wrong. We remember what it was like to have to deal with the "Hussein" comments and the "muslim" comments and the "friendly with radicals" comments. We know how it feels, and we know it is wrong. For that very reason, do not become what you know to be wrong - a hate-spewer, a revenge-taker, an angry Obamaite. We do not need this. Ask yourself: What would Barack want you to do? Barack has taken the high road, and I encourage you to do the same. We, even though we may have some bruised feelings, are still brothers and sisters within the Democratic Party. The way to make the Clinton camp come around, even those who say to the pollsters they will not vote for Obama in the general election, is to be nice to them. To some it will sound crazy, but it is the way. Be nice, and be nice, and be even more nice. That is the high road, and it is the road Barack wants us to take. It is time for unity. We are a unified nation only so much as we are a mature one. So please bring that maturity to bear in your dealings with Clinton supporters, McCain supporters, and supporters of all kinds. If we continue to hold and live this positive front, the undecideds and the leaners will lean our way. They will ask themselves, "What do they have? Why are they so positive? What do they know?" And we will be able to tell them that we only know that divisiveness is not the way, that anger is not the way. That we can be the change we wish to see; we can, in fact, be the high road, and people will come to our side. Do not join the dark side. I know it is tempting. But we are the light, and the only way to fight the dark is not to fight it at all, but to turn on the lights ever and ever more brighter. Turn on the lights of your positivity, your compassion, and your drive for success. Invite the Clintonites over for breakfast, pour them a cup, and tell them that you appreciate their passion. Let them know that you want to work with them to make this country great. That no matter who the candidate was to be, we were never going to be able to do this alone. There are no winners and no losers here; there is only us, and we have to tackle the problems of this great country. Tell them we are one people, we are one nation, and together we will begin the next great chapter in America's story. Tell them, let them live the power of who you are, and do not take revenge. We have already won; what reason would there be to gloat? There is a long road ahead of us. John McCain is on the horizon and he does not look like a nice, neat package covered in bows. The attacks will get worse, the hate-spew will get worse and we will need our Clinton friends on our side. Make friends today. Make nice today, and by no means gloat and be arrogant. It is not our way; it is not who we are. We are Barack's soldiers - confident, truthful, and... nice. Whoever said those things did not go hand in hand did not understand what true power is? I hope this helps you. I hope you can gracefully extend this same message to anyone you meet wishing to take revenge upon Clinton's supporters. Please do not. Please be... who we really are. Up Against The Machines!

Mrs. Clinton claims to be the only candidate to win "big" states, particularly big "blue" states.  The principal reason she has been able to do so has been her ability to call in old favors from past political cronies.  It has NOT been her special magic or appeal to voters in these jurisdictions.

The story is an old one that dates back to the elder Mayor Daley's regime in Chicago and Boss Tweed before that.

She won Ohio with the aid of the political patronage machine of Gov Ted Strickland with concentrated support from US Rep Stephanie Tubbs Jones' minyans in the Cleveland area.

She won Pennsylvania with the aid of Gov Ed Rendell's powerful patronage machine with a local boost from Mayor Nutter to keep the lid on a Philadelphia blow-out.

She had the New York machines locked up.

Though neither "blue" nor a "big" state, she had the machinery of Sen and former Gov Evan Bayh in Indiana against which the Obama campaign pushed hard and almost won.  And the machine of lame duck Gov Easley just couldn't deliver aganst the energetic forces for change.

We must keep the pressure on the opponent.  She wants to win - desperately.  Personally she has made many sacrifices over many years.  But, she has to be DEFEATED - again and again.  Yes, we can maintain the high road, but she must be defeated - that is what she understands.

Fired UP!

Consortium for the Restoration of Election Integrity

My previous O-Blog posting addressed Senator Clinton falsely taking credit for her small (and now shrinking) victory in indiana early today.  It is now estimated that one of every ten - 10% - of her tallies in Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania were generated by cross-over Republicans.  She has apparently forgotten those were sparked by followers of Rush Limbaugh.  His Operation Chaos seeks to deliver the nomination to Hillary, only so John McCain will face a weaker opponent in November.  Today I launch a campaign to stop that corruption of the American election.

Appealing to WV Voters, Mrs. Clinton Is Now The Coal Miner's Daughter

Celine Dion’s “You and I” got her campaign through Iowa and beyond.   However, the Canadian singer’s music had to be abandoned as the candidate danced the NAFTA flip-flop through blue collar union gigs in Ohio.

Music from Big Head Todd and the Monsters blared through the next several contests.

In Pennsylvania, Mrs. Clinton’s minyans cranked up the theme from “Rocky”.  Unfortunately, she stuck her foot in her mouth when she said that, like Rocky, when she gets knocked down she always stays down.  The little rich Goldwater Girl then began to fashion herself as one of Scranton’s own to compensate for the faux pas.

Indiana brought out Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” and Slick Willy was banished to North Carolina after he day-dreamed too much about women with big hair.

Now we’re in West Virginia.  What else would we expect from the consummate morphing candidate?  Yes, a little Loretta!

Coal Miner's Daughter

“Well I was born a coal miner's daughter in a cabin on a hill in Butcher Holler
We were poor but we had love that's the one thing daddy made sure of
He shovel coal to make a poor man's dollar

“Daddy worked all night in the Vanleer coal mine all day long in the field hoein' corn
Mommie rocked the baby that night read the Bible by a coal oil light
And everything would start all over come break of morn

“Daddy loved and raised eight kids on a miner's pay
Mommie scrubbed our clothes on a wash board everyday
I've seen her fingers bleed to complain there was no need
She's smile in mommie's understanding way

“In the summer time we didn't have shoes to wear
But in the wintertime we'd all get a brand new pair
From themail order catalog money made by selling a hog
Daddy always managed to get the money somewhere

“I'm proud to be a coal miner's daughter I remember well the well where I drew water
The work we done was hard at night we'd sleep for we were tired
I never thought I'd ever leave Butcher Holler

“But a lots of things have changed since the way back then
And it's so good to be back home again
Not much but the floor nothing lives there anymore
Just the mem'ries of a coal miner's daughter"

Give me a little Stevie Wonder and let's put this process behind us.

2nd Memo to Senator Clinton

Senator Clinton...

I am saddened you have neither the wisdom nor decency to be as honorable as your opponent.  While you will undoubtedly come up with some new metrics to justify staying in the campaign, I think you are ignoring the other metrics you SHOULD consider... and graciously end this waste of focus and other resources for a campaign that can not succeed.  Senator Obama is far too much the refined gentleman to bluntly confront you with reality.  I am not.

Olive Branch or Hickory Switch?

Last night many of the bobbleheads were talking about ways the Obama campaign can "make up" with the Clintons to facilitate party unity prior to the general election.

There are 2 avenues that are UNACCEPTABLE from my perspective:

1)  Offer her the VP slot. NEVER.  It is inadviseable to put the Clintons a "heartbeat away" from the Oval Office.  Just look at their past and their cronies- fugitives and felons, foreign and domestic.  The politics of fear and divisiveness are INCOMPATIBLE with the politics of hope and inclusion.

2)  Offer to pay off their campaign debt.  Are they CRAZY? These people are carpetbagging, narcissistic MULTIMILLIONAIRES who have fed off of taxpayer money for decades.  We are already committed to providing them pensions, health insurance and Secret Service protection for life.  Most of the 1.5+ million contributors in here aren't multimillionaires, don't spend more than we earn, and have our retirement and health care insurance at risk for the rest of our lives.

No retreat baby, no surrender!!

Let's continue to WIN this thing by putting more points on the board!

Obama's Experience Trumps Clinton's Specious Claims

Clinton role in health program disputed

By Susan Milligan, Globe Staff  |  March 14, 2008

WASHINGTON - Hillary Clinton, who has frequently described herself on the campaign trail as playing a pivotal role in forging a children's health insurance plan, had little to do with crafting the landmark legislation or ushering it through Congress, according to several lawmakers, staffers, and healthcare advocates involved in the issue.

In campaign speeches, Clinton describes the State Children's Health Insurance Program, or SCHIP, as an initiative "I helped to start." Addressing Iowa voters in November, Clinton said, "in 1997, I joined forces with members of Congress and we passed the State Children's Health Insurance Program." Clinton regularly cites the number of children in each state who are covered by the program, and mothers of sick children have appeared at Clinton campaign rallies to thank her.

But the Clinton White House, while supportive of the idea of expanding children's health, fought the first SCHIP effort, spearheaded by Senators Edward M. Kennedy, Democrat of Massachusetts, and Orrin G. Hatch, Republican of Utah, because of fears that it would derail a bigger budget bill. And several current and former lawmakers and staff said Hillary Clinton had no role in helping to write the congressional legislation, which grew out of a similar program approved in Massachusetts in 1996.

"The White House wasn't for it. We really roughed them up" in trying to get it approved over the Clinton administration's objections, Hatch said in an interview. "She may have done some advocacy [privately] over at the White House, but I'm not aware of it."

"I do like her," Hatch said of Hillary Clinton. "We all care about children. But does she deserve credit for SCHIP? No - Teddy does, but she doesn't."

The Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act (Obama – Coburn)

Hidden, last-minute earmarks hide pork and add to wasteful federal spending. Senator Obama sponsored the Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act. The bill would shed light on the almost 16,000 earmarks that were included in spending bills in 2005. Under the bill, all earmarks, including the name of the requestor and a justification for the earmark, would have to be disclosed 72 hours before they could be considered by the full Senate. Senators would be prohibited from advocating for an earmark if they have a financial interest in the project or earmark recipient. And, earmark recipients would have to disclose to an Office of Public Integrity the amount that they have spent on registered lobbyists and the names of those lobbyists. Several of these provisions were included in the ethics and lobbying reform bill that passed the Senate in January 2007.

Obama, Lugar Secure Funding for Implementation of Nonproliferation Law:  $48 million funding increase to be used to destroy conventional weapons stockpiles, intercept weapons of mass destruction and respond to proliferation emergencies

Thursday, June 28, 2007

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Barack Obama (D-IL) and Richard Lugar (R-IN) today announced that the Senate Appropriations Committee accepted their request to provide funding to implement the Lugar-Obama nonproliferation initiative. The Appropriations Committee expressed support for the initiative and provided $48 million for Lugar-Obama, $36 million for programs to destroy heavy conventional weapons, $10 million for efforts to intercept weapons and materials of mass destruction, and $2 million for rapid response to proliferation detection and interdiction emergencies. This is the culmination of an 18 month effort to authorize and fund the Lugar-Obama initiative.

First introduced in November 2005 and enacted in 2007, the Lugar-Obama initiative enhances U.S. efforts to destroy conventional weapons stockpiles and to detect and interdict weapons and materials of mass destruction throughout the world.

Barack Obama in Indianapolis

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Voters in Indiana and North Carolina crowded polling places Tuesday as they sought to settle the largest remaining contests in the Democratic presidential nomination struggle between Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton that has dragged improbably into spring.

In Indiana, Marion County Clerk Beth White said many voters already were in line when polls opened at 6 a.m.

"We really do feel today is going to be a heavy voting day, and our inspectors are ready," said White, the clerk in Indiana's most populous county.

Even before the opening of polls at 6:30 a.m. in North Carolina, there were signs of record turnout. Nearly half a million people had already cast early and absentee ballots as of Monday _ more than half the total number of voters who cast a ballot during the 2004 primary.

"I can't remember a primary that had this much excitement," said Gary Bartlett, director of the North Carolina Board of Elections. "It's truly fun to be part of making history, and I hope that this encourages voters to participate in all primary elections."

Like marathoners on their second wind, Obama and Clinton had raced for advantage until the final hours of the campaign for the primaries in the two states.

There was little if any expectation that the primaries would settle the big, messy picture. Both Clinton and Obama predicted they'd still be campaigning in June.

Obama began Tuesday by dropping in on the Four Seasons Family Restaurant in the Greenwood, Ind., a suburb of Indianapolis. He walked around shaking hands, then sat at the counter and had an omelet, chatting with patrons on either side.

"I feel good," Obama said when asked about the day's voting. "I think we've campaigned hard. I think it's going to be close. I'm seeing a lot of enthusiasm."

Clinton, at her scrappiest when her campaign is on the line _ which it has been for weeks _ brought a full-throated roar to a series of events Monday in a day of frantic travel spilling into the wee hours Tuesday.

A wealthy inside-Washington veteran, the former first lady worked hard to make common cause with blue-collar voters crucial to Tuesday's outcome.

"I do see you, I do hear you," she told supporters in Merrillville, Ind., speaking outside the local fire station as a dozen firefighters looked down on her from the fire truck behind her.

She pressed her proposal for a federal gas tax holiday that Obama has dismissed as a gimmick, one of the few issues where the two Democrats clearly diverge.

"It's a stunt," the Illinois senator said in Evansville. "It's what Washington does."

Obama's stance was backed up by 230 economists who released a letter Monday opposing the temporary tax break, which would take 18.4 cents off the price of a gallon if consumers got the full savings at the pump. The signers included four Nobel Prize winners and economic advisers to presidents of both parties.

Clinton shrugged off the blistering reviews from policy makers, industry experts and editorial writers.

"I believe we should start standing up for the majority of Americans who are paying the outrageous gas prices," Clinton said. "I'm ready to take on the oil companies."

Obama hurtled from Indiana to North Carolina and back.

"I want your vote. I want it badly," he pleaded on a factory floor in Durham, N.C., one of many settings drawing the working-class voters he needs.

Obama capped his day with a rain-soaked, get-out-the-vote rally in Indianapolis featuring Motown legend Stevie Wonder, followed by a visit to a factory for the midnight shift change.

Standing at the gates outside the Auto Components Holding plant, partly owned by Ford, Obama shook hands one-by-one with employees as they left. "If I got your vote, it would mean a lot," Obama told them.

"We need all the help we can get here. They're trying to close us down," one worker told Obama.

The plant, once owned entirely by Ford, makes steering components. It employs 1,200 workers _ roughly half of them on the Ford payroll _ and is scheduled to be shut down at the end of 2010, said Jim Lewis, United Auto Workers president at the plant.

Dual victories by Obama would all but knock Clinton out of the race. Polls, however, have found a small edge for the New York senator in Indiana. Obama remains the favorite in North Carolina, though his lead has shrunk.

Altogether, 187 delegates are at stake in the two states, nearly half the pledged delegates left with eight primaries to go before voting ends in a month.

North Carolina and Indiana cannot mathematically settle the nomination. A candidate needs 2,025 delegates to win, and Obama had 1,745.5 to Clinton's 1,608 Monday.

The key to the nomination is held by superdelegates, party leaders who aren't bound by the outcome of state contests. About 220 are still undecided.

Despite a rash of recent troubles and his loss to Clinton in the big Pennsylvania primary two weeks ago, Obama has continued to nibble away at Clinton's lead in superdelegates. He picked up two from Maryland on Monday, leaving him trailing Clinton 269-255.

Clinton's main hope is to persuade most of the still-neutral superdelegates to disregard his lead in the delegate chase and support her instead. Her campaign also hopes to get a boost by getting delegates from Michigan and Florida seated.

Obama easily outspent Clinton in both states while outside supporters threw big money into the contest, too.

The Service Employees International Union, which is backing Obama, spent about $1.1 million in the state, much of it on ads. The American Leadership Project, which has received most of its money from labor groups backing Clinton, spent more than $1 million on ads in Indiana that questioned Obama's economic policies.

"Tom Hanks Endorses Obama!"

Tom Hanks announces support for Obama
NEW YORK — Tom Hanks is supporting presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
Hanks has taken to his MySpace.com page to pledge his support for Obama, who is competing to be the first black president. Obama, who faces rival Hillary Rodham Clinton for the Democratic nomination, has also been endorsed by Oprah Winfrey, Bruce Springsteen and Scarlett Johansson.
“As an official celebrity, I know my endorsement has just made your mind up for you,” the 51-year-old actor says in a short video titled, “Beware: Celebrity Endorsement.”
“History with a capital ‘H’ is going to be made this November, no matter who the president-elect is. I want Barack Obama to be president of this country, a country that once said people with his skin color were only three-fifths of a human being.”
Hanks, who won Oscars for his roles in “Forrest Gump” and “Philadelphia,” explains his decision: “It’s because of his character and vision, and the high road he has taken during this campaign. He has the integrity and the inspiration to unify us, as did FDR and Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy and even Ronald Reagan when they ran for the job.”

And the "BIG" news is that I subscribed to our local paper for one month (Electronic Paper!) to try to keep up, and see if they EVER print anything favorable about our candidate? So far no can do!

Also, did you catch the Rally in Indiana tonight? I was busy watching for it on CNN, and it was on C-Span. I finally was able to record most of it. It was spectacular, of course 20,000 peeps in attendance, does it make the news, not really? I am really beginning to wonder about the 'media' in general, and I wonder, hmmmm...who is paying them off? Just a thught?

Why Barack Obama? I'll tell you!

OK - so a good friend of mine - now living in NC - asked me to tell him why he and his wife should vote for Barack Obama.  I sent him some things I'd already written, but I also wrote this.  Yes - It's long.  Of course - after I sent it he sent me an Email telling me he wouldn't make me work anymore and that he and his wife were already planning on voting for Obama in tomorrow's primary.  Sigh.  That's ok - well worth my effort!  Anyway - here you go!

Hey Chris - here's the long version! I agree with you - in that they're both strong candidates.   In regards to views and voting records, they're pretty much the same which means it all comes down to character in my mind.

She's good at policy - very knowledgeable - no doubt about that.  I think he's got a good head on his shoulders and is going for president for better reasons. Were she to get the nomination, though, I would vote for her in the fall.  I don't want another 4 years of a Republican administration.  We need to take over – all around.  And then…we truly need to accomplish something otherwise we’ll lose the majority in Congress in 2010.

Here's one, admittedly unfair, concern about Hillary Clinton.

For the last 20 years, we've had the same two families in the White House.  For the good of the country, we need a different bloodline in there.  Bush - Clinton - Bush - Clinton...I want someone else in there.

I prefer Obama for a variety of reasons and these aren't going to be in any particular order.  Foreign Policy, Management ability, Judgment, a Consistent message, Experience, Religion and politics, Gas tax...

I want to have hope folks, but...

I get so discouraged by the effectiveness of "say anything" kitchen-sink smear tactics, incessant tabloid-media distractions passed off as real news, pandering, innuendo, and outright lies that rely on the general ignorance of the lowest common denominator in this country - confidently knowing all along that by the time the actual truth filters down to the masses, it'll be too late!...  it makes me sick!

Over the weekend, my girlfriend was walking through the parking lot of our semi-rural Indiana Walmart wearing her Obama shirt, when some hayseed jackass called her a "terrorist lover"!

You know, I WANT to have hope... I WANT to believe in this country's ability to rise above the BS...  But misinformed hate like this makes me infinitely frustrated, bitter, and angry!  Not to mention the fact that it happened to MY girlfriend! (I really hope I'm the one that runs across you next time you redneck pr***!)

I'm no less proud to be an American, but I'm a little less proud of America - and its liars and hate-mongers from both the GOP and (yes) the Clinton campaign that continue to perpetuate their vile messages to the gullible, with absolutely no remorse what-so-ever!  Stupid people shouldn't be allowed to vote, but unfortunately they are - with their evil puppet-masters happily pulling their strings all the way to the polls!

HOPE...

I HOPE the majority of people aren't this ignorant.  I HOPE we outnumber the stupid.  I HOPE we will collectively rise-up and politically crush the manipulative evil that runs rampant within our system.  I HOPE this really IS "our time".

Will Clinton Win Indiana?

It is next to her home state of Illinois - yes I know it's hard to remember after she has carpetbagged her way to New York via Arkansas and the White House.

Why can't she close the deal with college-educated voters?

Why can't she win with middle class voters making more than $50K?

And, will somebody get Slick Willy a suit jacket that fits? Have these multimillionaires been spending all their cash on Mrs. Clinton's pant suits? I am concerned that his coat button is going to pop and blind some poor soul in the front row at one of his snake oil sessions.

Running a Smart, Honest, and Fair Campaign Should Count for Something

Until now, I haven't put into words why I'm so energised by Barack Obama.

As I think about him, the other candidates that were in the race, and the other remaining candidate, I realize I was an admirer of his style and substance from the start.

As a fan of The West Wing, the long-running NBC drama that dramatised a smart, moral and honest Democrat in the White House, I had dreamed of seeing something like that happen in real life.

When Hillary announced, I was not particularly pleased because I know what a target she is for the right-wing. I know she's smart. I know she's got the right position on most issues I care about. But I want to win, and I can't take another close race. We need a big margin to compensate for the cheating that Republicans will try to pull again. Our election process just isn't good enough, in my opinion, to handle close elections, because of inconsistencies about how votes get counted, how local areas do or don't follow the rules, and how special situations get handled. 2000 and 2004 proved that.

So when Barack Obama announced, I wanted and listened carefully to what he had to say. I liked it, but more importantly, I liked they way he presented himself. Very non-confrontational. Very smart. Very disarming. Just what we needed in a candidate to handle the kind of attacks that will be aimed at them from the right.

So he's run is campaign now for 15 months, and after watching the news almost daily, reading his first book, watching every debate, watching many rallys, attendeding one, and meeting him in the street, I feel assured I've made the right decision.

He's just been so positive. He's made it a goal of the campaign to be positive and not go negative. I think it would be hard to find a quote from him that is unfair to an opponent. Although, he said in the rally I attended they have slipped. It may be costing him because negative tactics tend to work, unfortnately. But I think he he really deserves credit for running a much more positive and fair campaign than his opponents. I'll wager that his broad appeal is a vindication of his kind of politics.

While Mrs. Clinton panders her way through Indiana and North Carolina with her 18.4 cent Federal gas tax holiday, 300,000 construction workers contemplate their 3-month job loss as $9Billion in projects is lost.

Who else will pay?

- Her "windfall" profit tax on oil companies will simply result in these companies RAISING prices at the pump so consumers will pay.

- The reduction in price per gallon will result in increased demand and consequent price INCREASES.

FEC Unable to Stop Election Abuse!

I spent another half hour on the phone with a cordial fellow named Miles at the Federal Election Commission yesterday.  While seeming to grasp the magnitude of a problem I believe is nothing short of blatant criminal activity and vote rigging, Miles was apologetic in admitting the FEC has no apparatus or procedures to address the issue I raise.  In the end, he could only suggest, "Maybe you should consider filing suit against the Commission for failing to do the job that we are supposed to do according to our charter - that being making sure elections are carried out fairly."  (read more)

Four Reasons Why Indiana Hoosiers Should Pass To Obama

Photo

My 'rock road' cred:

Though I have lived in California for over half my life, I grew up in Indiana, on a farm five miles southwest of Ireland, Indiana, in the southern part of the state. My mom, Fern still lives on the farm. My brothers and cousins are capable of giving me endless grief about what a delicate flower I've become (some will tell you I've always been) how I'd much rather shoot skeet than deer, how I will goof around with a turtle I find in a field when I should be digging post holes, what a chickenshit I am on the four-wheelers, or how I refuse to drink Pucker -- whatever the hell that stuff is. But we will always love each other no matter what, and Indiana, and our farm in particular, is still the land to which my life is rooted.

The smell of new-mown hay, the moonlight on the Wabash, Larry Bird and Oscar Robertson, the taste of real produce grown near Vincennes, the Little Five, Mellencamp's music, and open-wheeled racing give me pangs of nostalgia to this day.

I am writing this partially in support of Senator Obama, but just as much as an homage to all my deer-hunting, Pucker drinking, four-wheel riding Hoosier homies, many of whom are blood.

Here are four reasons as solid as a John Wooden basketball drill why you should be the ones to put an exclamation point on the Obama campaign by passing him the ball next Tuesday.

Reason One: Caginess. As any Hoosier can tell you, a cager is a basketball player. What they do not tell you, or let on very often, is that Hoosiers are cagey folks. They may come off like rubes to you and smell faintly of something that was not bought in a store, but they cannot be outfoxed. When the NCAA appropriated "March Madness" Sweet Sixteen and "Final Four" from Indiana's high school basketball tournament for its own use, the city of Indianapolis ended up as the location of the NCAA's new national headquarters, and all the revenue and jobs it generated for the state.

Obama's a cager and he is cagey, too. He has not been thrown off his game by Hillary's Kitchen Sink offense, or by a hot-dogging teammate like Jeremiah Wright who's taking ridiculous shots from behind the arc when he should be running the offense and playing his role. And he certainly has the game to stuff a two-hand set-shooter like "Branch" McCain, good as the Ol' Branchster might have been in his day.

Reason Two: Growth Determines Harvest. As any Hoosier can tell you, if you are going to be productive in the fall, you've got to work hard and have some luck with the weather in the spring and early summer. Hillary was busy counting her chickens before they hatched on Super Tuesday while Obama was busy lining up caucuses and building his organization. Because he has been so productive early in the growing season, Obama not only has the lead right now, he is the candidate best prepared to reap a bumper crop of votes come November. All he needs is nice steady shower of Hoosier support on May 6.

Reason Three: Patience. As any Hoosier can also tell you, things can take awhile. A quilt gets made one stitch at a time. If you get in a hurry about getting the cow back into the barn, the cow will not go back into the barn. Somewhere on his journey, Obama learned a similar kind of patience. He knows that lasting solutions do not have quick fixes, that they can take awhile. Hoosiers laugh at the idea that a single sandbag like the Clinton-McCain gas relief plan can stop the flood of money going to Arab Emirates and the oil companies. A vote for Obama is a vote acknowledging that Hoosier-style patience and hard work are what it's going to take to get the economy back on track.

Reason Four: Calmness at Crunch Time. As any Hoosier can tell you, when the game was on the line, Bird was unflappable. He wanted the ball in his hands, and every man, woman and child of us wanted him to have it.

The Clintons are formidable players, make no mistake about that. They are not the kind of players anybody wants to play against, you'd much rather have them on your team. They set a vicious pick. They hustle and scrap hard, and they hold you by the jersey and throw elbows when they think the ref isn't looking. They are tireless and do not have any quit in their constitutions. Like the Van Arsdale twins they can confuse you as to which of them is which with the old 'knee-pad switch' trick.

But when the game is on the line, as it is with this election, we want the ball in Obama's hands. He has Bird's unflappable calm, and like Bird, the bigger the game, the more difficult the circumstances, the better he plays. Give Barrack the ball on Tuesday. It will be one hell of an assist.

Indiana...North Carolina Democratic Presidential Primary Elections... A Battle To Appeal

Rivals plough thin line on food and fuel

By Andrew Ward in Washington

Published: May 2 2008 17:15 | Last updated: May 2 2008 17:15

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton face pressure from both sides of the debate over biofuels and soaring food prices as they prepare for Tuesday’s Democratic primary elections in Indiana and North Carolina.

Indiana is the fifth-largest corn producing state in the US, making it a leading beneficiary of rising crop prices and increased use of corn-based ethanol in fuel.

North Carolina imports more corn than any other state for its multi-billion dollar livestock industry, which is under intense strain from rising input costs.

Global corn prices have risen by 41 per cent over the past year and a third of that increase was caused by growing demand from ethanol producers, according to the White House.

Both Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton are committed to expansion in ethanol production – heavily subsidised by federal tax dollars – as part of their plans to tackle climate change and reduce dependence on foreign oil.

Their stances were aimed in part at voters in Iowa, the largest corn producing state, which held the crucial first presidential nominating contest in January.

But in the past week they have trodden a more careful line between the conflicting interests of Indiana and North Carolina farmers, while acknowledging concern among ordinary voters about rising food prices.

Indiana has more than a dozen ethanol plants open or under construction, with 381m gallons of fresh capacity planned on top of the 467m gallons it produces each year.

Poet, the world’s largest ethanol producer, told the Indianapolis Star recently that it was looking for up to six more facilities in Indiana over the next two years. Producers are attracted to Indiana in part because of its proximity to east coast population centres compared with other prairie states.

While Indiana cashes in on the ethanol boom, North Carolina is feeling squeezed. “It is reaching crisis point,” said Ron Heiniger, professor of crop science at North Carolina State University. “The livestock industry is the economic engine for rural communities in North Carolina and they are feeling a great deal of concern about rising corn prices.”

If North Carolina was a country, Mr Heiniger says it would be the world’s fifth-largest corn importer. Its poultry and hog farming industries are each valued at more than $2bn a year. The state boosted its corn production to record levels last year but still imports about 10 times more than it grows.

There has been little debate so far over food prices and ethanol during the North Carolina campaign – a reflection, perhaps, of the fact that the state’s rural farmers are most likely to be Republicans.

Concern about rising oil prices appears to have overridden concern about rising food prices as both candidates have continued touting the role of biofuels as an alternative source of energy.

James McDowell, political scientist at Indiana State University, says ethanol policy is less important in Indiana than Iowa because the state is less reliant on farming. “Indiana is a former steel producing state and the big issue is job creation,” he says. “Agriculture is important but it is not the over-riding concern like it is west of the Mississippi.”

From the Washington Post:

With endorsements coming in from California, Iowa and Indiana, Sen. Barack Obama yesterday pulled even with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in the race for support on Capitol Hill ...

Obama (Ill.) received the backing of Rep. Baron P. Hill, a conservative from a critical district in southern Indiana; Rep. Bruce Braley, an Iowa freshman who grabbed a Republican seat in 2006; and Rep. Lois Capps, who has held her liberal Santa Barbara, Calif., seat for five full terms and whose son-in-law works for the Obama campaign.

A congressional contest that Clinton once dominated is now knotted at 97, and the senator from New York continues to lose ground with the one group that can still deliver her the nomination -- the party leaders and elected officials known as superdelegates.

... On Monday, Obama took the endorsement lead among his Democratic Senate colleagues when Sen. Jeff Bingaman (N.M.) announced his support. Obama then pulled even overall after four House nods in two days, with even some rural lawmakers in tough, Republican-leaning districts giving him the benefit of the doubt.

From the Pisgah Mountain News:

With issues like the economy and the war in Iraq, Kim Hamel didn't wait until Tuesday to cast her ballot.

The Fletcher [North Carolina] resident was one of thousands in Buncombe and Henderson counties voting early this year.

Like many, Hamel is excited North Carolina's primary could play a key role in the outcome of the presidential race.

"I think it's important for us to vote anyway, but especially this year, to play a crucial role in it," Hamel said.

The interest seems to be fueling higher voter registration.

"The biggest excitement is in the fact that North Carolina is going to count in a primary. That our vote is really going to count," said Rose Stone, of Hendersonville, who volunteers at the Democratic Party headquarters.

... Voters can still register at early voting sites, which continues through Saturday. But those not registered Tuesday, will not be allowed to vote.

... This is the first year of early voting in a federal primary, said Buncombe County Elections Director Trena Parker.

... "I think there's more interest among young people and people who in the past had been turned off by politics," said Gary Prichard, chairman of Henderson County United for Obama.

Prichard's group has been holding meetings and had a packed house when former Sen. Jean Carnahan spoke on behalf of Obama in Hendersonville.

"We are definitely excited about the opportunity we have to put Sen. Obama if not over the top at least near the top," Prichard said.

From Reuters:

Voters are excited, said Russell L. Hanson, a political science professor at Indiana University Bloomington.

"There's been a dramatic increase in voter registration," said Hanson. "People are gratified by it, interested in the race and paying attention, and they rather like the idea that they might determine the outcome -- or at least influence it in some important way."

The last time Indiana held its primary before a presumptive nominee had been selected was turbulent 1968, when Democratic Sen. Robert Kennedy pulled out a victory against Indiana Gov. Roger Branigin and Sen. Eugene McCarthy.

From the Black Hill Pioneer:

Former senator Tom Daschle brought his pitch for Barack Obama to the Black Hills Tuesday.

"I believe so strongly in the positions he has taken across the board," Daschle said of his reasons to back Obama in his quest for the Democratic nomination. "I've also never before seen someone inspire people the way he has."

After 18 months of brutal campaigning, South Dakota may be much more important than anyone would have every thought, he told an audience at Black Hills State University. Several hundred gathered to hear him speak about the future of the presidency and why he believes Obama is the "only choice."

"It's exciting," Daschle said. "South Dakota has always gotten the last word when it comes to the selection of our nominee. No one could have possibly believed that we could be as important."

... "He's a clear choice for South Dakotans because from my perspective, he's going to do a lot more for us than McCain really will. It's my opinion that McCain really represents George Bush's third term," he said.

"Barack has seen the tremendous difficulty that our country has demonstrated to address the national's problems because of the deep polarization taking place," Daschle said of his reasons for supporting the Illinois senator. "He has demonstrated both in his capacity as state senator and then at his capacity as United States senator that he really is a different kind of politician and legislator. That he does have this ability within himself to bring people together and work across the aisle and create that kind of cohesion that this country really needs."

From Montana's News Station:

The race for the White House is gearing up in Great Falls as the Barack Obama campaign held an organizational meeting on Monday night.

Volunteers shared their stories about why they are supporting Obama and staff members were on hand to answer questions.

"This is an exciting opportunity here in Montana. The primary is June 3rd. That's pretty late. No one ever thinks it will get beyond Super Tuesday" says Obama Regional Field Director Colin Walsh. "So we have a great opportunity here to have the voices of Montanans heard in who they want to be the democratic nominee for President."

People were encouraged to volunteer and help the campaign with phone calls, data collection and knocking on doors.

Obama's campaign has offices across the state and is expected to open another office in Havre later this week.

Who is Mickey Kantor and why does he hate Indiana?

Someone forwarded this to me...it's pretty shocking, and could probably turn the tide in Indiana if it were to go viral.....forward this to everyone you know!!!!Everyone - please check out this video of early Bill Clinton campaign video showing Carville, Stephy and Mickey Kantor referring to residents of Indiana as White N***ers.http://agonist.org/schecter/?p=9533The following is an article about Mickey "white n***er, these people are sh#t" Kantor that gives a bit of insight into the type of sharks the Clintons are known to swim with....

A Confidant for Every Crisis

By Kevin Merida
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, January 29, 1998; Page B1

...Others speculate Kantor is there for his blind loyalty; he's one person who won't go south on Clinton even if it turns out the president is lying.

...Kantor is one of few in the president's inner circle with longstanding ties to each of the Clintons. He actually met Hillary Clinton first, back in 1978 when they served on the Legal Services Corp. board during the Carter administration. That same year Bill Clinton was forging his national political identity, becoming the youngest elected governor in four decades. Kantor soon became part of the Arkansas governor's extensive national network.

...Kantor has a reputation as a skilled negotiator who is known for his fierce desire to win. Sometimes this desire to best his foes manifests itself with nervous pacing. Other times, the will to win takes a more dramatic turn. On the tennis court, for instance, he has been known to hurl his racket in disgust. "I am the worst loser you ever met in your life," he told The Washington Post in an interview during the 1992 campaign. "I get mad."

...Mad and also abrasive, some say. But Kantor often seems unfazed by such critiques. "I have to keep pushing people," he told the National Journal in a 1994 interview. "My job is to make sure we get it done. It's not a popularity contest. You can't be Mr. Nice Guy."

..."In unambiguous language, with an open face and an earnestness of voice and eye, Mickey Kantor had in our March meeting told us a bald-faced lie," Robinson writes.

"The cropped video, which spread through the Internet like wildfire on Friday morning, shows Kantor with fellow former Bill Clinton staffers James Carville and George Stephanopoulos discussing results from the general election. In the footage, Kantor approaches the two aides and says, "Look at Indiana -- wait, wait, look at Indiana. 42-40. It doesn't matter if we win, those people are shit." That much seems true."

Not only did Mickey Kantor run the 1992 Clinton-Gore campaign, but he went on to be Clinton's Free Trade Representative.  YES- you heard that right.  The World Trade Organization, the Uruguay deal, ramping up Chinese relations and NAFTA!

He went on to to be Clinton's Secy of Commerce in his second term.

Kantor is not some casual acquaintance of these people.  He is an insider. Send 'em all back to Arkansas.

End the drama; Elect Obama!!

The Company We Keep....

The Clintons have a documented record demonstrating how they -

LIE, CHEAT, PANDER and STEAL!!

A good starting point is the Presidential pardons, the selling of the Lincoln Bedroom, illegal campaign contributions from foreign nationals, convictions of members of his administration some of whom now work on her campaign.

Do they really want to talk about their cronies?

IU's Assembly Hall - Do The Math

I was proud to hear that the Clintons came up short in their Bloomington events.  All 3 Clintons passed through my birthplace.

Chelsea got about 300 folk to turn out in the Auditorium lobby (who cares?).

Ex-Prez Slick Willy fielded around 7,000 in Assembly Hall (they had to put up tarps, blankets so as not to show all the empty seats.

Mrs. Clinton got a turnout of between 3,000 and 4,000.

Excuse me Senator Clinton... A Few Short Questions

Remember how smugly Senator Clinton takes pop after pop at Senator Obama (last during her appearance on Fox with Bill-O) with that comment about how SHE WOULD HAVE LEFT HER CHURCH IF THE PREACHER SAID THINGS LIKE THOSE ATTRIBUTED TO REV. WRIGHT?  It was a less than subtle branding of her opponent as someone with bad judgment. (read more)

Letter To Family and Friends in Indiana

Decided to send emails to ALL my family members and friends still in Indiana.  There's a lot of them  from Gary to Angola to this side of Cincinnati to Evansville.  My first email is a two-fer... to my cousin, Linda, and her husband, Brian.  He is a teacher and she a guidance counselor who live in Orland, not far from Angola.  As expected, education is among their top priorities... something Senator Obama is stressing as he campaigns in Indiana.  Feel free to use my note as a template to reach your Hoosier friends and family. The latest report from the Daily Gallup Tracking Poll is a tough pill to swallow.  Obama's decline and  Clinton's increase was not unexpected, but still a shock.  A 4-point difference (C:49% O:45%) in not unrecoverable, but it is troubling 5-nights from the votes in Indiana and North Carolina.  I hope it serves to stimulate a rally among O-camp loyalists to focus on negating today's advantage.  But first, how did we get here -  from a previous comfortable margin in so many surveys? Now Is the TIME

This message came from J J Hopkins and I could not have said it better.

The week before the primaries is a critical time to rally support for Senator Obama. Forget the media, forget Clinton, focus on getting Senator Obama's message across to undecided voters!
1. Volunteer at a phone bank. Making phone calls is a great way to reach voters across the state. In all of the primaries so far, 10-15% of voters have made up their minds in the last week. When you reach someone who is undecided, explain to them why you support Senator Obama. Personal outreach is always more eff ective than mass advertising. The Obama website has a great phonebanking tool that has call-lists for different states.
2. Show your support at an Obama event. Being around other Obama supporters is very energizing and the events are great fun. Also, all of these events have Obama signs and buttons so you can pick some up and show your support. Check the "Events" page of your Obama group page or organize an event.
3. Get some Obama signs and put them up around your neighborhood. Corners of busy intersections get maximum visibility. A yard sign on your frontyard is a great way to show your support. If you can't get official Obama merchandise, get some posterboard and some markers and make your own sign - it will look great and have a bigger impact!
4. Canvass for Obama. Print out some Obama flyers that address issues important in your community, have them copied, and distribute them in your neighborhood, or areas identified by your local Obama offic e.
5. Reach out to friends and family. We are sometimes reluctant to discuss politics with friends and family, but your views are likely to carry more weight with this group than with strangers. Call or email your friends and family and tell them why you are excited about supporting Senator Obama.
6. Donate to the camp aign. If you are unable to go out and help, make a donation online. It will help get Barack's message across from coast to coast!
This campaign has been fueled by the energy of grassroots volunteers. That's you and me!
Share your Obama action plan!
Let us deliver for Senator Obama this week and regain the momentum!

Stop Operation Chaos!

Y'all may have heard that Rush Limbaugh is encouraging Republicans to vote for Hillary in the Democratic Primaries where they can. Indiana is a old school Republican State, and they can be expected to play this game in the open Primary up there. But, there is a unique opportunity to mess with the Republicans who wish to vote for Hillary in the Democratic primary this time.

As I remember, Indiana has a law on the books that ANY citizen can challenge another citizen's right to vote in a primary if they think the person is not truly a member of the party they are voting in. Upon challenge, the person must sign an affidavit asserting that either A) they voted for a democrat for a majority of their votes in the last general election, or B) that they will vote for majority of democrats in the coming general election. The affidavit is signed under penalty of perjury. Just making note of that could discourage Republicans from voting in the Democratic primary. Having people actually make the challenges would be a bonus!

If you know anyone in Indy, pass this along!

Clinton Exports Indiana Jobs

Mrs. Clinton winks and whispers to the Canadians re: NAFTA while pointing finger at Austan Goolsbee,

Slick Willy and Mark Penn take "consulting fees" to support Colombian Free Trade while she panders in Pennsylvania,

and now she blames Indiana job losses on President Bush!

“The jobs went to China, but so did the technology. And now the United States military has to buy the magnets we need for the smart bombs we invented from China,” Mrs. Clinton said as the union members booed. Here's the complete story.

In 1995, General Motors decided to sell the Indiana-based Magnequench to a Chinese-American consortium.

The consortium included:

  • San Huan New Materials and Hi-Tech Co, a company owned by the Chinese Academy of Sciences;
  • Onfem Holdings, a company controlled by the State Nonferrous Metals Industry Administration in the Peoples Republic of China;
  • Soros Fund Management, headed by George Soros;
  • The Sextant Group, founded by Archibald Cox Jr.;

Because Magnequench made magnets for smart bombs, the sale to a group that included foreign owners required approval under a 1988 law.

After a 30-day review, the Clinton administration’s Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, which includes representatives of the Pentagon, approved the sale in 1995.

The buyers reportedly promised to keep manufacturing in the United States.

Yet in 1998, they started building a plant in China, close to the source of the raw materials used in the magnets.

The company reorganized in 1999, buying out Soros as well as Onfem Holdings.

In 2000, Magnequench bought a magnet factory in Valparaiso, the same year it started operations at its China plant.

In 2001, it closed its original plant in Anderson, Ind.

"The Better Angels of Our Nature"

Rep. Lois Capps (CA), who has long ties to the Clintons, endorsed Sen. Obama today (April 30). She was the third member of Congress to announce an endorsement of Sen. Obama today.

“Barack Obama is the better choice because of something larger and perhaps more important,” Rep. Capps said. “Simply put, he has made a call to the better angels of our nature. He is challenging us to lift ourselves out of the ugliness that increasingly consumes Washington, where the heat of your argument counts for more than the light it should bring,” Capps said.

“He is asking us to stand together as Americans and transcend the traditional lines that have so often divided us by party affiliation, economic status, gender, or race. . . . I came to Washington 10 years ago after winning the seat my husband Walter held. In office for a mere 10 months before he died, he had lost none of the idealism and faith in American democracy that propelled his life. Quite frankly, I don’t believe he ever would have and I know that I have tried to keep that fire burning. But I’ll admit it’s hard, when so much of what’s going on around you is less about meeting our country’s challenges and more about demonizing your political opponents,” she said.

“Walter once said that ‘we are strongest as people when we are directed by that which unites us, rather than giving into the fears, suspicions, innuendos and paranoia that divide.’ For years I have been waiting for a President that speaks to that vision. I believe Barack Obama may very well be that rare leader.”

Chicago/We Can Change the World
Graham Nash

Though your brother's bound and gagged
And they've chained him to a chair
Won't you please come to Chicago
Just to sing
In a land that's known as freedom
How can such a thing be fair
Won't you please come to Chicago
For the help we can bring
We can change the world -
Re-arrange the world
It's dying - to get better
Politicians sit yourself down,
There's nothing for you here

I can see clearly now

I was watching the Daily Show the other day when Jon Stewart and I had a big ‘Aha!’ moment about the race. This whole time we’ve been trying to gauge who’s winning by using archaic methodology like votes and delegates. We were wrong!  The only accurate lens we should have been looking through is the *Spinton. (It’s in stores now!)

Your thoughts on who should decide this nomination should be shaped by the Clinton prism. Let Hillary guide you through this intricate step by step process… in her own words.

On Meet The Press
January 9, 2008
HRC: “Ultimately you have to be humbled because it’s up to the voters, voters get to decide.”
January 13
HRC: “Look, I trust voters, voters decide on whatever basis they think is important to them…”

Freaking caucus voters had to ruin it for all of us by violating Hillary’s trust. Because you guys in Iowa voted for Obama and Edwards, you’ve been cut out of the Clinton will.

February 11
HRC: “Um… my sense of caucus states, they’re primarily dominated by activists. They don’t represent the electorate.”

Now you may be thinking ‘so why did she lose the primaries in South Carolina & Louisiana where voters represent real people?’ Hold that thought because, as Bill and Hillary explain, it’s clear that SC & LA weren’t real primaries.

Bill: “Jesse Jackson won in SC twice, in ‘84 and ’88.” (Feb 11)
HRC: “The case of Louisiana… you know… a very strong and very proud African American electorate… which I totally respect and understand.” (Feb 11)

Of course everyone knows that black people in Louisiana, like party activists in Iowa, are a monolithic voting bloc that just had to go for the black guy en masse. Duh!

So, given that Obama also won primaries in Georgia, Wisconsin, Alabama, Vermont, Virginia, and Maryland… are those real states, Hillary?

March 25

HRC: “I’ve won the big states; I’ve won the states a democrat has to win.”
We can’t keep having these tiny girly states in the equation. While we’re at it, states with more than3 vowels in their name should also be arbitrarily banned from the electoral process.

Because voters keep screwing this thing up by voting for Barack Obama, Hillary explains why it’s incumbent on superdelegates to save you from yourself.

February 23
HRC: “We do a great disservice to those who have a record of service; who have independent experience with candidates; people with those kinds of personal experiences which voters don’t have.  (Voters) see us from afar… they come to a speech… they watch us on television… and they vote. And that is part of the process, an important part.”

Voters, it’s your fault that in 4 months you’ve gone from being the ultimate deciders to being just “part of the process”. You only have yourselves to blame.

Ok, I sense you guys are not convinced so let’s try some hypotheticals…

April 23, 2008
HRC: “If you actually count the votes that have been cast, more people have actually voted for me.”
But you can’t count the “latte-drinking, Prius-driving, Birkenstock-wearing, trust-fund babies” because the first syllables that came out of their cute little mouths were “ba” and “ma”.

If you don’t believe Hillary, checkout her friends….

April 6
Ed Rendell: “If you count FL and MI, in truth, Hillary Clinton would have won.”
Of course the fact that Barack Obama was not even on the ballot in Michigan is totally irrelevant.
March 23
Evan Bayh: “If you look at the aggregate… uh… uh… popular vote…”
March 16
Bill Clinton: “If we had the Republican system…”

And Hillary to bring it all together…

April 23
HRC: “If we had the same system as the Republicans, I’d already be the nominee.”

Added Tom Brady: “If we had played the NY Giants again in January in New York, and not February in Arizona, we would be Super Bowl XLII Champions.”

Also, if pigs had wings, they would fly.

[*Spin + Clinton  = Spinton]

Kentucky Congressman Ben Chandler Endorses Barack Obama for PresidentBy Sam Graham-Felsen - Apr 29th, 2008 at 2:26 pm EDT Comments |  Mail to a Friend  |  Report Objectionable Content LOUISVILLE, KY — U.S. Congressman Ben Chandler from Kentucky endorsed Barack Obama for President today, citing his ability to lead the country forward:

"Today I am pleased to announce my support and to offer my endorsement to Barack Obama to be the next President of the United States. I have listened to this man, I have met with him and like many of you, I am inspired by his message of change and of hope for our future. But more importantly, I am convinced Barack Obama will provide the steady hand and leadership we need to chart a new path for our nation.

In these tough economic times, when many in our nation and right here in Kentucky are struggling to make ends meet and to provide for their families, too much is at stake for us to do nothing. I hope all Kentuckians and citizens throughout the nation will join with me in firmly supporting Barack Obama to lead our nation to a better future and to a place of respect for our country around the world."

Said Obama: "I am honored to have the support of Congressman Ben Chandler. As a Congressman, Ben has been a tireless fighter for working families and seniors, our troops in Iraq and our veterans at home. When he served as Kentucky Attorney General, he fought to pass Megan's Law and protect women and children, and he took action to protect the elderly from patient abuse and neglect. I look forward to working with Ben to strengthen our middle class and to keep our sacred trust with our past and present servicemen and women.”

Congressman Chandler is Senator Obama’s 244th Superdelegate endorsement. Senator Obama is now 288 delegates away from winning the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.

"Mortified!"

I just hope that the majority of Americans, will have the insight, and the smarts, to realize that Reverand Wright is a lunatic! He may be smart, well educated, but it certainly doesnt mean he isn't....insane? If he had spent the last 40 years working on how to single-handedly destroy, the first, and perhaps only chance, that an African American can make it into "The White House" instead of working for forty years, on his redoric, on how DIFFERENT American Europeans, and African Americans, are so different, they might as well live on different planets, he could not have been more destructive. I knew Barack would have to step up to the plate, and kick this Man to the curb! He did today, although in a rather kind and gentle way, which is just his nature! He has a longer fuse than "I!" I would be totally ballistic! That is why he will make a better President, than I would.

Back to work. We are doing a "Habitat For Humanity" event in May, also a "Sportsmen & Woman" getting out the early vote events in May as well. I will personally take this opportunity to make calls, lots of calls to Indianna, and try to put out ths Forest Fire! I hope you will all join me!
